It is because it has a toxin called Persin. It can cause vomiting and diarrhea in dogs. If you have an avocado plant in your home yard, it should be good if you keep your dogs away from that tree. Persin is located in whole part of that tree, leave, bark, tree, etc.
The next fruits dogs cannot eat are cherries. Cherries contain cyanide and toxic to dogs except the fleshy part around the seed. Cyanide can make your dogs’ blood cells cannot get adequate oxygen. The symptoms if your dogs are poisoned by cherries are dilated pupil, red gums, and difficulty breathing. Then, persimmons, peaches, and plums are also the fruits that cannot be eaten by dogs. These fruits have a problem with the pits or seed. Persimmons’ seeds can cause dogs’ small intestine problem. It is also had by plums and peaches. Both of the peaches and plums also have cyanide that can poison the dogs.
Currants constitute of fruits dogs cannot eat. May be grapes and raisins are more common known by dogs’ owner than currant. It is important you have to know that currants have the same toxicity with grapes and raisins. The symptom if your dogs consume this fruit is vomiting or diarrhea. This fruit can cause renal damage, so take your dogs to the vet. Furthermore, apricots are not allowed to be consumed by your dogs. Like cherries and avocados, the seeds, leaves, stems, and barks are poisonous to dogs. This plant contains cyanide that can cause fail respiration and death.
The last fruits dogs cannot eat are apple seeds. Unlike other fruits, apples should be fed to dogs with care. Apples seeds have cyanide and it is very poisonous to your canine animals. It can cause your dogs’ blood cells cannot adequate oxygen. Thus, those are the fruits dogs cannot eat. They are grapes, raisins, avocados, cherries, persimmons, peaches, plums, currents, apricots, and apple seeds. Those fruits can cause kidney damage, vomiting, diarrhea, cannot get adequate oxygen, intestine problem, toxicity, renal damage, fail respiration, and death. Make sure that your dogs are kept away from those fruits and those plants. If your dogs have one or more of those symptoms just take them to the vet. The symptoms can be tiredness, diarrhea, loss desire to eat, vomiting, dehydration, dilated pupil, red gums, difficulty breathing and abdominal pain.
